We are seeking an outstanding and experienced safeguarding professional who is passionate about ensuring that every child is safe, supported and able to thrive within a culture of vigilance, care and inclusion. The successful candidate will combine expert knowledge of safeguarding practice with the leadership skills required to promote and strengthen a whole-school safeguarding culture.
As Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a key role in leading and shaping the school’s safeguarding provision, ensuring that safeguarding and child protection procedures are implemented effectively and consistently across the school. You will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and senior leaders to ensure that all pupils, particularly vulnerable learners, receive timely and appropriate support to enable them to achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
We are looking for a resilient, highly organised and compassionate professional with proven experience in safeguarding, pastoral care or inclusion, who can work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies to secure the very best outcomes for young people. You will have a strong understanding of statutory safeguarding responsibilities, multi-agency working and the barriers that can impact pupils’ wellbeing, attendance and engagement in education.
The successful candidate will be both strategic and operational — able to contribute to whole-school safeguarding priorities while maintaining a relentless focus on the welfare, safety and wellbeing of individual pupils. You will be confident in managing safeguarding concerns, maintaining accurate records, supporting staff training and promoting a culture where safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and committed leader to make a significant impact on the lives of young people and to help shape a school culture where safety, wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do.
