An exciting opportunity has arisen for Class Teacher to join High Point Academy.
The High Point Academy opened in September 2021, and we aim for all our pupils to be "ACE" we have ambitious aspirations for all our learners; we wish to challenge the impossible and encourage independence for all.
We educate up to 115 pupils aged 11-16 years with autism and moderate learning difficulties. High Point is part of Forward Education Trust, a rapidly growing Multi Academy Trust established in 2017 serving special schools across the West Midlands (Birmingham, Solihull and Sandwell).
The Class Teacher will actively be supporting school activities where required, including attending educational trips, extra-curricular activities and parents’ evenings, which may require some out-of-hours availability.
The
successful candidate will:
· Be an enthusiastic and keen to learn – this would suit an innovative
teacher or a trainee seeking to gain experience.
· Be passionate about developing children as independent learners and thinkers.
· Be eager to develop excellent teaching practice and create a learning
environment where all pupils can achieve their best.
· Be actively supporting school activities where required, including
attending educational trips, extra-curricular activities and parents’ evenings,
which may require some out-of-hours availability.
· Be committed to making learning experiences memorable and fun.
· Be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and is
able to work effectively as part of a team.
· Be organised, professional and proficient, with appropriate IT skills.
· Be working with the SENCO to ensure pupils with SEND are appropriately
supported.
· Be working with the DSL and their deputies to ensure safeguarding is
promoted.
·
Be working with the designated teacher for LAC to support LAC and
previously LAC.
· Hold a Batchelors Degree and QTS qualification
