An exciting
opportunity has arisen for Class Teacher to join High Point Academy.
The
High Point Academy opened in September 2021, and we aim for all our pupils to
be "ACE" we have ambitious aspirations for all our learners, we wish to challenge the impossible and
encourage independence for all.
We educate up to 112
pupils aged 11-16 years with autism and moderate learning difficulties. High
Point is part of Forward Education Trust.
The Class
Teacher will support school activities,, including
attending educational trips, extra-curricular activities and parents’ evenings,
which may require some out-of-hours availability.
The
successful candidate will:
· Be enthusiastic
and keen to learn – this would suit an innovative teacher or a trainee.
· Be passionate about
developing children as independent learners and thinkers.
· Be able to develop excellent teaching practice and create a learning environment where all pupils can achieve their best.
· Be committed to
making learning experiences memorable and fun.
· Be an excellent
communicator with strong interpersonal skills and work effectively
as part of a team.
· Be organised,
professional and proficient, with excellent IT skills.
· Work with the
SENCO to ensure pupils with SEND are appropriately supported.
· Work with the
DSL and their deputies to ensure safeguarding is promoted.
· Work with the
designated teacher for LAC to support LAC and previously LAC.
·
Hold a QTS qualification
