About this Role

SEN Teaching Assistant

Working Pattern: 23.25 hours over 38 weeks per year.

Monday-Thursday 8:45am-1pm and Friday 8:45am-3:30pm (with a 30-minute lunch break). These include some lunchtime cover.

Grade: D 4

Salary: £25,185.00 FTE

Actual: £13,277.13

Fixed term contract until 31.07.2026

Sywell CE Primary School is proud to offer a fantastic opportunity for a friendly, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant, to join their team working on a one-to-one basis with a child with additional needs, including elements of medical care.

 

We are looking to appoint someone who:

  • Wants to make a real difference in a child’s life by providing tailored support to help them thrive in our inclusive school environment.
  • Is enthusiastic, approachable, and friendly
  • Ensures all children feel safe, happy, and able to learn
  • Has an understanding of the curriculum and pastoral needs of primary aged children
  • Is able to deliver high quality first teaching
  • Is confident in using a range of behaviour management strategies
  • Has the ability to work effectively, flexibly, and independently using their own initiative and above all is a committed team member
  • Has knowledge, understanding and/or experience of working with children with additional needs

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support for children with complex needs, in line with recommended provision and targets from external professionals
  • Providing a level of medical care.
  • Supporting learning, communication, and social development both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals
  • Contributing to a nurturing and structured learning environment
