Teacher of Maths 0.5 FTE
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated and forward-thinking Maths Teacher who is passionate about providing students with engaging and challenging learning opportunities that allow them to reach their full potential. This is an exciting role where the majority of teaching will be focused on the provision for students who attend maths lessons in our Resource Base across Years 7-11.
The Resource Base is a specialist provision for students with a diagnosis of ASC. The role would require small group teaching from Year 7-11 which is adapted to the needs of the students whilst still aligning with the mainstream schemes of work. The successful candidate will have the ability to be flexible within lessons to ensure that misconceptions and gaps in knowledge are picked up quickly and explored, and pace may need to be adapted to ensure mastery of the content.
The successful candidate will ensure that our students in the Resource Base receive high quality lessons aligned with the maths curriculum whole school. Experience of teaching students with ASD and other learning needs would be desirable but not essential – a passion for adaptive teaching and supporting students is essential.
Our Mathematics Faculty is a dynamic and collaborative team of seven specialist teachers, bringing together a wide range of experience, expertise, and enthusiasm for the subject. Teaching takes place in well resourced classrooms, all equipped with interactive whiteboards and visualisers to support engaging, high quality learning. We follow the White Rose Maths scheme of learning, complemented by weekly Sparx Maths tasks that help students consolidate and deepen their understanding.
Lessons are centrally planned to provide clarity and consistency across the curriculum, whilst allowing teachers the professional freedom to adapt and refine materials to meet the needs of their learners. Staff benefit from a strong culture of continued professional development, including collaborative CPD within the faculty and access to high quality whole school training, ensuring continual growth at every stage of a teacher’s career.
