About this Role

Bailey Street Alternative Provision Academy are seeking to appoint a motivated, dedicated and aspirational Teacher of English and Literacy Co-ordinator.

Bailey Street Alternative Provision Academy is part of The Manor Hall Trust and is an 11-16 school for pupils who have been permanently excluded or at risk of exclusion from the Stafford and South Staffordshire districts.

Energetic? Innovative? Passionate? We are looking for a different kind of teacher who wants to be at the cutting edge of teaching and learning, working differently and bringing the curriculum to life with an innovative approach. We are looking for a Teacher of English who has the highest aspirations, passion and expertise to be able to provide the inspiring teaching that will continue our journey to bring positive change throughout the academy. You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who has the ability to inspire, challenge and motivate to ensure that pupils are given the best opportunity to succeed, not only in the classroom but in life.

Applications are welcomed from dynamic and inspirational teachers, who wish to make a difference by safeguarding, raising standards, and improving the life chances, behaviour and levels of attainment for some of the most vulnerable pupils in Stafford and South Staffordshire.

As School Literacy Lead the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a passion for reading and literacy, and the impact reading fluency and comprehension has on academic progress and lifelong opportunities. They will demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge on the latest research related to literacy development and will have a clarity of vision of how they can develop this area. They would be expected to drive the Literacy Policy and reading culture, lead on interventions for our pupils, track and monitor reading progress and develop new opportunities to take literacy development further.

We are interested in candidates that are good and outstanding teachers, who are fully-inclusive in their practice, with positive classroom management skills and a growth mind-set attitude. They need to be resilient and flexible enough to work in a pressured school environment.  The successful applicants will demonstrate a strong commitment to the aims, values and ethos of The Manor Hall Trust and be a positive team player.

The Manor Hall Trust is committed to high quality professional development and career opportunities for all staff, we are passionate about cultivating our own talented workforce. We believe that we can provide an opportunity to join a dynamic team enabling a bespoke career development programme to be created for you in a supportive environment.
