Bowling Green Academy is a happy and successful school with
a strong reputation in the community. We are a small village school with 163
pupils currently on roll, with a strong family ethos that sets high
expectations, recognises achievement and celebrates success for all of our
children. We are a thriving school with a great team of staff and are now
looking to recruit an outstanding Learning Support Assistant with energy and
enthusiasm to fill this post.
We require a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated individual
to provided targeted support to two pupils in Key Stage 2 who currently have
Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) with top-up funding in place. The role
will support these children with special educational needs, subject to their
continued education at the school.
We are looking for a positive, flexible, and nurturing individual with a good understanding of child development and the primary education curriculum, who can effectively support learning activities under the direction of the class teacher. You will have a sound knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures, an appreciation of inclusive education and differentiation, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. The role requires someone who can follow guidance while also demonstrating initiative when appropriate, adapt to a range of situations, and respond sensitively to pupils’ individual needs. You may have experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting, including supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and neurodiverse strengths and needs. Your experience may include providing one-to-one support, working with small groups, and offering classroom support.
You will be expected to work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff, usually in the classroom with the teacher, to support access to learning for these pupils. Specifically, this may be to:
