Key Responsibilities

As a Class Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with the National Curriculum, ensuring breadth and balance across all subjects
  • Set clear learning objectives, provide appropriate challenge, and maintain high expectations for all pupils
  • Create a positive and disciplined classroom environment that safeguards pupils’ wellbeing
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all abilities and learning styles
  • Promote children’s social, emotional, and cultural development
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress, using data effectively to inform teaching
  • Manage classroom resources and evaluate their impact on learning
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, including teaching assistants and parent helpers
  • Build strong relationships with parents, communicating regularly about pupils’ academic, social, and emotional progress
  • Liaise with external agencies where appropriate
  • Contribute to wider school life, including staff meetings, CPD, and INSET
  • Lead or support the development of a curriculum area
  • Maintain accurate records, including transition documentation

Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting
  • Strong curriculum and subject knowledge
  • Effective behaviour management skills
  • The ability to adapt and differentiate teaching to meet diverse needs
