Job overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable IT Service Technician to be based primarily at Sedgehill Academy within United Learning’s South-East London Cluster.  Prior experience in a school environment is desirable, and a demonstrable customer-focused approach is essential.  As the ‘face of IT’, you will build strong relationships with users of all abilities and levels of seniority.

As the first point of contact for IT support, you’ll be the face of IT and will quickly build strong relationships with staff and students of all levels and abilities. Prior experience in a school environment is desirable, but a proactive, approachable attitude and a commitment to excellent service are essential.

Qualifications and Experience

·       Experience working in an IT customer facing environment

·       Solid troubleshooting skills across hardware, software and peripherals.

·       Familiarity with Windows devices and Microsoft 365 applications.

·       Working knowledge of user administration in Active Directory and Entra ID.

·       Good customerservice and communication skills, with the ability to support nontechnical users.

·       Relevant IT qualification/s (e.g., Level 3/4, A+, apprenticeship).

Professionalism in manner, conduct, and appearance is key.  A proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude and strong interpersonal skills will enable you to succeed in supporting teachers to deliver the best outcomes for our pupils.

This role also requires a high level of literacy, as all written communication must adhere to Standard English.  Your primary place of work and responsibility will be Sedgehill Academy.  However, you will also be required to visit other cluster schools—Conisborough College, The John Roan School, and Bacon’s College.  On occasion, you may also be asked to support other United Learning schools within a reasonable travelling distance.

Submit your application no later than: 14 June 2026

Interviews: Week Commencing: As soon as possible after the closing date

Please note, interviews may take place sooner for the right candidate so please submit your application as soon as possible.
