Become a School Governor – Make a Difference in Education

Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their best?

Do you want to contribute your skills and experience to help shape the future of education?

We are seeking committed, enthusiastic individuals to join our Milton Mount Primary School Governance Committee.

School Committee members are volunteers who work strategically with the headteacher and senior leaders to:

• Set the vision and direction of the school
• Monitor educational performance and outcomes
• Ensure effective use of financial resources
• Hold the school to account for the quality of education

You don’t need to be an education specialist — we welcome people from all professional and personal backgrounds. What matters most is your commitment, integrity, and willingness to contribute.

What We’re Looking For

We are particularly interested in individuals with experience or skills in:

• Finance or budgeting
• HR or organisational management
• Education or safeguarding
• Legal or compliance
• Community engagement

However, full training and ongoing support will be provided, so don’t hesitate to apply if you are new to governance.

The role typically involves:

• Attending governing board meetings (usually 3–6 per year)
