About this Role

Due to a Maternity Leave, we are looking to appoint a teacher to join our enthusiastic and talented team here at Meadow View Primary School for a fixed period. You will be joining our fabulous school that has a commitment to investing in staff CPD and wellbeing. We are dedicated to providing the very best education for all our children and have high expectations for everyone in our school. This position is not for a class based teacher, however is to lead learning support groups across both KS1 and KS2 for SEND and EAL pupils. It would include teaching a phonics class, reading group, bespoke English  and Maths group for EAL and SEND learners and leading breaktime and lunchtime play on the KS1 playground. There would also additional teacher responsibilities in line with teacher standards for the SEND and EAL pupils you teach. 

The hours to be worked in school would be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9am-12:45pm and on Tuesday 9am-4:30pm plus reasonable additional hours as may be needed to enable the teacher to discharge effectively their professional duties.

ECTs are welcome to apply and should an ECT be successful, the temporary position can contribute towards their induction period.

  • Someone who has high standards of behaviour and high attainment expectations for all children including those pupils who have SEND, EAL or come from a background of disadvantage.
  • A teacher with excellent organisational skills.
  • Someone who has a passion for teaching and learning who can plan, prepare and deliver excellent sequences of lessons, taking on board guidance and support.
  • A teacher who has a good understanding of SEND and EAL needs and with support from the Inclusion Team are able to make a range of adaptations for individual pupils to remove barriers to learning. 
  • A candidate who is approachable with excellent communication skills, who will be able to form good relationships with all stakeholders based on mutual respect.
  • A teacher who is ambitious and committed to their own professional development.
  • Someone who is an outstanding role model for all and who unwaveringly demonstrate and embed our three school rules of aim high, stay safe and be kind.
