Are you an excellent, caring and inclusive teaching partner, ready for the next step in your career development? We are looking for an experienced professional to work alongside the Assistant Head and Behavioural & Regulation Lead to develop our nurture team. Your role will be a proactive one:  to ensure SEMH interventions are run with fidelity across our KS1 and KS2 teams and that teachers are supported to ensure their universal provision meets the needs of SEMH children in their classrooms . You will have proven experience in using your own initiative to develop learning activities for children in your care and some experience in using assessment to plot development and plan new learning. You will have access to relevant training and support to succeed in this important role.

Note: This role is offered as a fixed term secondment for an existing TP within our school. The role is temporary  in the first instance with the possibility of becoming permanent should funding allow. The post will run from 1 September 2026 to 31 December 2026 and will be reviewed in November 2026.

What skills / experience are required?

  • Experience of leading learning with primary aged children.

  • Experience of assessing progress towards using QCA tracker or similar.

  • Understanding of the importance of inclusion for all.

  • A recognised TA qualification such as NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications is desirable.

  • Patience and a non judgemental attitude.

  • A flexible approach to your work and excellent team working skills.

  • A good understanding of how children learn.

  • A problem solver and team-player who will contribute positively to our small staff team.

  • Good interpersonal skills, to support positive relationships with all, including parents/carers.

  • Good level of written English, to support planning, assessment and work with multi agencies.

  • A desire to further your own professional development through targeted training to support the needs of children in your care.

  • Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures relevant to child protection and health and safety.

What we can offer

  • A diverse school community.

  • Vibrant and curious children, who are eager to learn and love to please.

  • A wonderful new-build school, which is well-resourced with space to spare.

  • A supportive leadership team and governing body.

  • As part of the River Learning Trust, we can also offer you an excellent network of professional support and CPLD that will help you grow as a professional through access to some of the county’s best teaching professionals.

  • A commitment to wellbeing and workload.

  • Flexible working and job share/part time applications will be considered.

  • PPA will be offered as part of the role.

OUR ‘HOW?’ is through the highest support and challenge for our schools and each other, underpinned by our principles.

Our employees benefit from a wide variety of support including extensive  continuing professional learning and development opportunities, wellbeing and staff networks and access to Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (TPS and LGPS) for all staff.
