Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm
(1-hour unpaid break each day)
Salary – £25,989 FTE
Actual Salary – £17,830.29 p.a.

The Role
Watling Academy is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to help maintain a high‑quality environment across our growing school community. This is a varied, practical and highly valued role at the heart of the Academy, ensuring that our buildings remain safe, clean and inviting throughout the day.
As our Housekeeper, you will play a key part in keeping the Academy running smoothly, supporting both daily operations and special events, and working closely with our Site & Caretaking Co‑ordinator and wider site team. You will:

Maintain high standards of
cleanliness across all student, staff and public areas.

Keep internal and external spaces
tidy, including litter collection and bin emptying.
·
Ensure Reception and Leadership
areas are consistently presentable for visitors.
·
Monitor cleaning supplies and
liaise with the Site & Caretaking Co‑ordinator and outsourced cleaning
teams.

Follow all health and safety
procedures, including COSHH and manual handling requirements.
·
Support small kitchen areas,
ensuring good hygiene, correct waste disposal and daily dishwasher use.

Assist with event setup and clear‑down, and report any defects or issues promptly.

Watling Academy
Watling Academy is an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ secondary school situated on the western edge of Milton Keynes, encompassing the Whitehouse and Fairfields developments. Opening in September 2020, our school is a new and vibrant learning community for students aged 11-18. We are excited to have opened the Watling Academy Sixth Form to our first cohort of Year 12 students from September 2025, which will provide further educational opportunities.
