About this Role

Northern House Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Advanced Skills Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to engage positively with learning and achieve their individual potential. Working alongside teachersand the wider staff team, you will help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child is supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

You will work collaboratively with class teachers to deliver highly personalised learning, adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of pupils and helping to remove barriers to learning. Through positive relationships, high expectations and a consistent, relational approach, you will support pupils to develop their emotional regulation, confidence, independence and readiness to learn.

A key aspect of the role is working flexibly across the academy, providing high-quality classroom support, delivering targeted interventions and contributing to a therapeutic learning environment. You will work closely with colleagues, families and external professionals to ensure pupils receive coordinated, responsive support that promotes positive outcomes both in and beyond the classroom.
