About this Role

Are you an outstanding teacher and proven or potential leader with a record of raising student attainment and a passion for evidence led improvement? 

We are seeking a Head of Technology & Art to lead a successful and dedicated department building on strong academic and enrichment provision to drive the next stage of development and secure even higher standards for every student. 

The department offers:

At Key Stage 3

Technology (Food & Nutrition, Textiles and Resistant Materials) and Art

At Key Stage 4 

BTECs/GCSEs in Hospitality & Catering, Health & Social Care, Design Technology, Textiles, Art & Design and Photography

This full time, permanent role will suit a collaborative innovator who can inspire colleagues, translate research into classroom practice, and combine strategic vision with hands on support to deliver measurable improvements in teaching, learning, and student progress.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead a successful and dedicated department and take it to the next stage of its development. We are seeking an outstanding teacher who is a strong team player, with a proven track record of raising student attainment. You will be committed to using evidence-informed practice and adopting a collaborative approach to drive strategic improvement, ensuring excellent teaching, effective use of resources, and high standards of learning and progress for all students. The ability to lead effectively across Technology & Art is essential and applications are welcome from all suitably qualified candidates. We would particularly welcome applicants with a specialism and proven teaching experience in Food Technology or Health & Social Care.

In this role you will:

Lead and develop the Technology & Art department to secure consistently high standards of teaching, learning and outcomes.

Motivate and challenge students of all abilities so they achieve their potential and make measurable progress.

Work closely with colleagues to ensure that there is minimum impact on students of staff absence.

Contribute to creating a positive learning environment where all students feel valued.

Take part in wider school life, including enrichment activities and Electives.

Play an active role in supporting the school’s commitment to raising achievement for all.
