Lunchtime Learning Assistant 

Salary: Grade 2 SCP 3 £2,804.00 - Actual Per Annum

Permanent

5 hours per week - Term Time Only 

Monday - Friday 11:45am until 12:45pm 

Start: September 2026

Oldfleet Primary School are looking to appoint a lunchtime Learning Assistant to join our existing team. You will provide highly effective support to our children at Oldfleet Primary School across the lunchtime period in the dining hall. 


 What You Will Bring

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.

  • Establish positive relationships with children, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and happy

  • Have high expectations of social behaviour and learning over the lunchtime period

  • Encourage appropriate social interaction and independence when dining together with their peers

  • Teach appropriate skills, i.e., the use of cutlery and manners

  • To be a positive role model working with enthusiasm, care, and consideration

  • Promote an inclusive lunchtime environment, recognising and supporting individual needs.

  • To work as part of a team with the catering assistants, organising the dining room (furniture/equipment) and clearing of tables for all the operational needs of the school’s catering provision.

  • Undertake first aid duties.

  • The above responsibilities are not exhaustive and may vary without changing the character of the job or level of responsibility. The post-holder must be flexible to ensure the operational needs of the school are met. This includes the undertaking of duties of a similar nature and responsibility as and when required.
