About this Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work at our fabulous SEND provisions for Stubbin Wood School, Common Lane, Langwith, Mansfield, NG20 8QF, at that site and also our provisions at King Edward Primary School, St Andrew Street, NG18 2RG, and Chesterfield Football Club, 1866 Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, S42 8NZ.

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is committed to providing the highest possible standards of support and teaching to pupils within our school. 

Your primary focus is to ensure continued high-quality learning and pupil achievement. It is essential that you have experience of working with SEND children, and have knowledge and understanding of alternative communication systems and visual supports; its also essential that you have knowledge and understanding of conditions linked to non-verbal profiles, such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC); It would be desirable to be able to use Makaton and that you have previous experience  of teaching SEND children

You will cover and lead class teaching (under supervision) as and when directed, ensuring that you are supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aimed at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.  You will organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment.
