About this Role

About us:

Belong School Devon is an independent special school for students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, located in Exeter. With an inspirational team of teachers and learning coaches, Belong School Devon support students and their families to positively reengage with learning. We work with complex and vulnerable children and our unshakable ambition for each of our students is that they learn, grow and thrive and become successful adults in a modern world.

About you

The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher who is able to teach up to and including GCSE in Geography. Applications welcomed from ECTs and experienced teachers.

We require a degree of flexibility to adapt to the needs of our students, the learning environment, and a commitment to meeting outcomes set on EHCPs and delivering targets set in IEPs. Experience of working in an SEMH setting/special school would be desirable but is not essential.

About the role

Most students study Geography at Key Stage 3, and it is an option for our Key Stage 4 students, for whom we offer GCSE Geography. We place a strong emphasis upon relational practice and practical work to support learning.

Benefits include:

·         Supportive staff and leadership team

·         Potential for progression

·         Excellent CPD opportunities

·         Commitment to staff wellbeing and Employee Assistance Programme

·         Workplace pension

·         Reimbursement of work-related mileage

·         Casual dress

·         Free parking

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students is paramount and all staff are expected to share and embrace this commitment. Any offer of employment is subject to two satisfactory professional references, medical clearance, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check (DBS), evidence of eligibility to work in the UK and evidence of qualifications. All of the above checks must have been completed before the start of employment.
