About this Role

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our academy. You will be responsible for managing the front office and administrative function, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the service.

Working closely with the Business Manager and wider leadership team, you will take a proactive approach to managing your workload and responding to the needs of a busy school environment. You will act as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors, providing a professional, calm, and welcoming presence at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Managing reception duties and being the main point of contact for all enquiries

Handling telephone calls, emails, and face-to-face interactions with professionalism and sensitivity

Maintaining accurate records using systems such as ARBOR

Providing comprehensive administrative and organisational support across the academy

Ensuring that daily operations run efficiently through effective planning and prioritisation

Supporting staff and leadership with general administrative tasks

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a capable and self-motivated individual who is comfortable taking initiative and managing a wide range of responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

Essential skills and experience:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

        Strong administrative and organisational abilities

Confidence in managing tasks independently and prioritising workload effectively

Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solution-focused in a fast-paced setting

Good ICT skills and experience using a range of systems

A positive, professional, and team-oriented approach

Additional requirements:

Numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or GCSE grades A–C / 9–4

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships

A flexible and resilient approach when working with young people who may need additional support

        Experience using ARBOR (desirable)

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting pupils and contributing positively to a provision that works with young people who may present complex needs. A calm, patient, and consistent approach is essential.

Why Join Us?

Work in a supportive and purposeful environment

Be part of a committed and forward-thinking team

Make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people

We are recognised as a ‘School of Character’ and encourage Responsibility, Respect and Resilience.  These are characteristics we expect of all of our students and staff regardless of their role within the school.

The Links Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding children and young people.  All post holders are subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.  We will also require two appropriate references. As part of the recruitment process on line checks will be carried out on shortlisted candidates.
