St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School is a friendly and welcoming school that strives to ensure all children receive the best possible learning opportunities.  We have children in EYFS, Key Stage 1 and  Key Stage 2.  We have capacity for 300 pupils. 

About The Role

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will support pupils within the classroom and our SEND provision, helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive

You will receive on-the-job training and support throughout your apprenticeship while studying towards your qualification.

  • Valuable experience in the SEND classroom/provision.
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to access learning and participate fully in school life.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo.
  • Support pupils with communication, language, emotional regulation and social interaction.
  • Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and resilience.
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with personal care where required, maintaining dignity and promoting independence. Help prepare learning resources and maintain a stimulating learning environment.

About You

  • We are looking for someone who is:
  •         A practising Catholic or someone who will fully support our Catholic ethos and values.
  •         Is passionate about working with children and young people.
  •        Has an interest in supporting pupils with SEND.
  •         Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  •        Can maintain confidentiality and act professionally at all times
  •        Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
