St Peter's VC Academy School is looking for an Early Childhood Educator to join their team. You will collaborate with teachers and other support staff to address the needs and learning journey of our students throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities include working closely with individual students or small groups to deliver tailored support that meets each pupil's specific educational, emotional, and physical needs. They assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), adapt lesson materials for accessibility, and provide one-on-one attention to help pupils stay engaged and make progress. In collaboration with class teachers, SENCO, and external specialists, they monitor pupil development, manage behaviour sensitively, and create a safe, nurturing atmosphere that encourages independence and confidence. This role requires patience, empathy, adaptability, and a strong commitment to supporting every child's right to a meaningful education.
Your role focuses around supporting Teachers, which in turn elevates the support delivered to pupils. The role will also involve leading small group Interventions under the direction of the class teacher. Experience of working in a school is essential. Experience of SEND would be an advantage but not essential, but most importantly, you will have the right attitude towards teaching and learning.
