SENDCo
The Directors of the Trust seek to appoint a passionate SENDCo to further develop our SEND provision and to join our highly committed senior leadership team within St Peter’s VC Academy.
We will appoint a teacher who meets the essential criteria of the post; this teacher will have qualified teacher status and would preferably possess a SEND qualification, with demonstrable successful experience of teaching SEND children. However, for the right candidate we would be willing to engage and support an aspiring SENDCo (who must be willing to undertake SEND qualification and complete within 3 years), who also should be able to competently demonstrate their understanding and ability to lead and to work with SEND children.
At our school and our Trust we foster an inclusive
environment where all pupils and are valued, respected and supported to reach
their full potential, regardless of their background, abilities or needs.
Therefore, we are looking for a proactive and dedicated individual who is fully committed to supporting all children to achieve their full potential by removing barriers to learning and providing accessible quality first teaching.
This person will directly support the Headteacher in determining the strategic development of the special educational needs (SEND) policy and provision in the school and will carry through the Trust’s strategic vision for SEND. This person will be part of and contribute to a supportive and highly ambitious senior leadership team.
As our SENDCo you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the SEND provision to support individual pupils with SEN and/or with a disability. This person will provide professional guidance to colleagues in the area of SEND and will work closely with parents and other agencies. Additionally the appointee will be lead and manage support staff working with pupils with SEND. This post has a teaching commitment which is expected to be in lower Key Stage Two.
