Are you a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse who believes in creating a fun, engaging, and supportive environment where young children can thrive? Are you passionate about early childhood development and excited by the opportunity to help shape a new provision? If so, St Mary’s Priory Church of England Infant and Nursery School could be the perfect place for you.

We are looking for a dedicated and nurturing Nursery Nurse to join our Early Years team. Our school-based nursery opened to three-and four-year-olds in September 2025 and has grown into a thriving EYFS provision.  This is a fantastic time to become part of an ambitious and welcoming school community.

In this role, you will:

  • Support high-quality learning and care for children in our Reception and Nursery classes.
  • Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that encourages children to explore, play, and develop.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and Early Years staff to plan and deliver engaging learning experiences.
  • Support children’s individual developmental needs through a warm and responsive approach.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, supporting the wider school community.

Our school is situated in Plympton, Plymouth and we share a leadership team across our two sites of St Mary’s Priory CE Infant and Nursery School and St Mary’s Priory Junior School (formerly Old Priory Junior School). We are popular schools because of our high expectations and because our school values underpin all that we do. Our core value is love and we aim to show that in everything that we do in our schools: in our lives as teachers; in our relationships with the children and their families; and in our determination to provide the best learning and pastoral experiences for all of our children. The schools are part of St Christopher’s Trust - a family of 21 Church and Community Schools spanning three local authorities and providing a rich network of collaboration.

In joining St Mary’s Priory, you will be part of a friendly and welcoming staff team and a supportive community. You will have the opportunity to develop your teaching and leadership skills in an environment that has a strong focus on CPD whatever career stage you are at. As a Church of England school, you will be happy to support the Anglican ethos through our school values.
