About this Role

St Mary and St Joseph’s are looking for a dedicated and adaptable Achievement Support Assistant to join our team. Your primary focus will be delivering targeted support to small groups of children, helping them bridge gaps in their learning, boost their confidence, and achieve their individual goals. You will work closely with class teachers to ensure every child feels seen, heard, and supported.

This post is fixed term until 31st August 2027 - This is  due to government funding, and there may be an opportunity to extend the contract if funding continues.

10.75 hours Monday to Friday as detailed below:

1pm to 3:10pm - 4 days per week 
1pm to 3:05pm - 1 day per week

Key Responsibilities

Small Group Support: Lead focused sessions in core subjects (Literacy, Numeracy).

Instructional Delivery: Adapt learning materials provided by the teacher to suit the specific needs and learning styles of your assigned groups.

Progress Tracking: Observe and record student progress, providing feedback to the Class Teacher to help inform future lesson planning.

Inclusion: Support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or those who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Behavior Management: Maintain a positive, focused learning environment using the school’s established behavior policies.

Resource Preparation: Create engaging visual aids, workstations, and activities specifically designed for small-group interaction.
