About this Role

St Mary and St Joseph VC Academy are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to provide 1-1 support for a student in Key Stage 2. This role is vital in ensuring that every child, regardless of their barriers to learning, has the opportunity to thrive in a mainstream environment.

Fixed-term until 31 August 2026.  It is funded by the government, and there may be an opportunity to extend the contract if funding continues.

25 hours per week, term time only - hours of work - 9am to 3pm with one hour for lunch

You will be the student’s champion—helping them navigate the curriculum, manage their emotions, and build the independence they need to succeed.

About You

We aren't just looking for a "helper"; we are looking for a collaborator. You should have:

  • Resilience: The ability to stay calm and consistent, even on challenging days.
  • Adaptability: A "quick-on-your-feet" mindset to change tactics if a lesson isn't clicking.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with teachers and families.
  • Experience: Previous experience with SEND is highly desirable, but a willing heart and a proactive attitude are essential.

What Our School Offers

  • A supportive, inclusive team environment.
  • Ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
  • The chance to make a profound, visible difference in a young person’s life every single day.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

St Trust is an equal opportunities employer.
