About this Role

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Health Care Support Worker to provide comprehensive emotional, physical, and practical care tailored to the needs of designated students across our school. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the SENCO and inter-agency health professionals to safeguard student well-being, manage health risks, and promote active engagement in learning.

32.5 hours per week, term time only plus 5 additional days

This role is ideal for a proactive, dedicated professional who models an enthusiasm for continuous improvement and is passionate about promoting inclusion, dignity, and independence. Whether implementing complex clinical tasks, administering medication, or providing close supervision during off-site community visits, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, purposeful, and supportive environment where vulnerable students can thrive.

What We’re Looking For

  • Ability to attend to the complex health, medical, and personal care needs of specific students, offering emotional support and facilitating vital independence skills.
  • Experience working with diverse and vulnerable needs within a school or care setting, including specific experience in risk management, recording confidential data, and safely moving and handling people.
  • Skills in implementing clinical and personal hygiene tasks (e.g., physiotherapy, enteral feeds, tracheostomy, insulin, or asthma management) while maintaining the highest level of pupil dignity.
  • Proven ability to work closely with classroom staff and external specialists to contribute to accurate tracking records, Individual Health Care Plans, and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs).
  • Core Qualifications: 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or above (or equivalent), alongside an unwavering commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality.

What We Offer

  • A welcoming and inclusive school community rooted in Catholic values.
  • Opportunities for professional development, specialized external clinical training, and career progression within a thriving trust.
  • Students who are eager to learn and engage with supportive staff.
  • Access to well-equipped, modern hygiene rooms designed to support the delivery of high-quality health and physical care.
  • Full access to trust-wide networks, resources, and supportive partnerships with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

The Trust is an equal opportunities employer.
