Old Hall Junior School is looking to appoint a dedicated, compassionate and pro-active SENCo to join our team. At Old Hall we strive to provide the best education for all our pupils in a caring, supportive environment. We develop confident young people, ready and prepared to be responsible and effective members of the community. We are looking for a skilled and confident SENDCo, who shares the ethos of our school and is committed to supporting us in delivering exceptional education to the community we serve. This is a key role supporting pupils and families within our school, helping to ensure every child receives the education they deserve through SEND Adaptations and quality first teaching. (OHJTE4)
There is a minimum of half a day release each week to fulfil the SENCo role as described in the job description and person specification.
We are looking for a SENCo that can maintain and build upon the successes of the here and now, whilst having the vision, enthusiasm and talent to seek out new opportunities for continuing to drive school improvement forward at Old Hall Junior School into the future.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has a commitment to inclusion, diversity and equality to ensure that our whole community achieves success.
• Has a proven track record of excellent teaching in KS2.
• Has experience of successful inclusion of children with a range of Special Educational Needs.
• Holds the National SENCO Award or NPQSEN, or is willing to undertake study to achieve this.
• Has the ability to inspire and support others to improve their own classroom practice.
• Is an excellent communicator with an approachable manner and proven interpersonal skills who can work effectively with children and their families, staff and school champions.
• Has a commitment to safeguarding and working with staff and families to promote the welfare of children across the school.
