About this Role

Hours & Pay:

Grade: Kent Scheme KS A

Salary: £3,719pa Actual Salary (£24,513 FTE)

Hours: Monday to Friday 12.10pm - 1:30pm; 1hr 20 mins per day (6 hours 40 mins per week)

Contract type: Permanent; term time only (38 weeks per year)

About the role:

"I love Cage Green and I know that Cage Green loves me," was what one of our children said during our very successful Ofsted inspection.    If you are the kind of person who understands why what the child has said was important, you might be the person we are looking for to join our team as our new Midday Supervisor. Many of our past MDS have gone on to become TAs so if you are looking to explore a new career in schools, this might be an excellent stepping stone for you.

Our Midday Supervisors mainly work in our canteen.  You will supervise the children whilst they eat, managing good behaviour and ensuring that the environment is safe and clean. You will be working alongside our excellent kitchen team who prepare and serve the food and you will deal with food spills (with the children's help!) and ensure that tables and disposal areas are clear. You will wipe tables after the meal is finished and ensure the floor is left clean and tidy.   We encourage independence and the children do a lot of their own serving and clearing away. We would like them to do more of this and you may be the person to help us.  You might also be asked to cover the playground while the children are playing.
The role is a fun one.  We can't guarantee that you won't get beans on you, and it is very likely that someone will burst their yoghurt on you, but our children are brilliant; they are fun, courteous, respectful and REALLY want a chat.

If you think this role might be for you but you want to be sure, you are very welcome to come and visit us and see for yourself. Once you have met our children, we are confident that you will be eager to come and join us!

About our Trust:

The Trust aims to deliver the very best educational experience for its pupils, with each school bringing its own strengths and expertise to benefit the whole learning community. Each of our schools is unique in its own right, and we promote that individuality.

We are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals, we all bring something unique to the role regardless of any protected characteristics, which is why we treat all members of our community equally, without compromise. We are committed to providing equality and fairness through our recruitment and employment practices.

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check with the Disclosure and Barring Service [DBS] under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 will be required for the successful applicant.

References and an online search will be requested prior to interview for candidates who are short-listed. Successful applicants will be subject to DBS clearance and other relevant employment checks.

Based on the quality and quantity of applications received, the Trust reserves the right to close this vacancy sooner than the specified closing date. Therefore, early applications are encouraged.
