About this Role

Are you passionate about Early Reading and Phonics? Badbury Park Primary School are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Phonics and Reading Support Teaching Assistant to join our team.

As a Little Wandle school working closely with Ramsbury English Hub, we are excited to offer this unique opportunity, initially, on a fixed term contract for three mornings per week. This role would suit someone with knowledge of Reception and KS1 who has an interest in teaching phonics and reading. We would welcome applicants from Level 5 practitioners who are highly organised, well-spoken and able to work independently with small groups of children across our Reception and KS1. The successful applicant would carry out daily reading groups, interventions, SEND interventions and bespoke 121 interventions. They would be an excellent communicator and able to assess phonics as well as fill in the phonics tracker to monitor progress and impact. Full training on the phonics scheme will be given, and coaching will take place weekly with our Reading Lead Teacher to ensure high quality phonics with fidelity to the scheme.

Badbury Park Primary School moved into a state-of-the-art new building in November 2020. We are passionate about outdoor learning, education for social responsibility and forest school and we have wonderful green spaces to bring the curriculum alive. We have engaged, happy learners in beautiful, authentic learning spaces with carefully chosen versatile resources that provoke creativity, curiosity, and concentration. The school building is spacious, and purpose built with the latest technology including an immersive room, VR headsets, coding robots and a 3D printer.

Badbury Park has a great staff team who are supportive, passionate, and caring. Our aim is to work collaboratively together to nurture and develop every child through carefully planned lessons. We believe in teaching skills, sharing knowledge, and building special memories that children will take with them through the rest of their lives.
