Main purpose of the job:

·         Take responsibility for the learning, progress and achievement of all pupils in your class, ensuring equality of opportunity for every learner.

·         Lead, develop and champion a non‑core subject across the school, drawing on secure classroom practice and previous subject leadership experience (or equivalent) to drive standards, curriculum development and staff confidence.

·         Take responsibility for celebrating progress and high standards through the effective organisation and development of the learning environment.

·         Demonstrate consistently high expectations in both conduct and professional practice, modelling the values and ethos of Reginald Mitchell Primary School.

·         Build positive, respectful relationships with pupils, treating them with dignity and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries at all times.

·         Work proactively and collaboratively with pupils, parents/carers, colleagues, governors and external agencies in the best interests of children.

·         Act in accordance with statutory frameworks, including the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and the Teacher Standards (2012).

·         Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times.
