About this Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator at Bradford Alternative Provision Academy.

The post will initially be based at our Jesse Street site, in Fairweather Green, Bradford, BD8 0JQ.

About our school

Bradford AP Academy (BAPA) comprises of three main sites, Aireview in Saltaire, Jesse Street at Fairweather Green, and Cityview in Bowling. In addition, some students access provision at our Pre-assessment sites at The Bungalow and The Loft. The sites work closely together to offer the best service for young people, families and schools.

We teach and support young people who have been excluded from school or for whom mainstream education is not working.

The team you will be joining do incredible work with these young people who often come with SEND and/or complex and traumatic backgrounds. As such, you can be assured that you will be part of a strong team of people who support each other, and you too will be supported to be the best you can be, putting young people at the heart of all we do.

About the role

We are looking for an Administrator (based at our Jesse Street site) who will be a friendly and professional first point of contact to students, families and other professionals visiting school. We require someone with strong organisational skills, a calm nature and the ability to support the smooth running of the school, whilst prioritising a varied workload.

You will work closely with the Operations Manager, the Head of Centre and other Administrators at our other sites. This established team can offer support and training to the successful candidate, ensuring that you always have someone to go to when unsure. We also have an incredible central team of staff who can support with various queries should they arise.

The successful candidate will assist in the provision of high quality, professional, flexible, proficient and constructive clerical, administration, financial support and reception service to the school. They will also be responsible for use of our computer systems to ensure accurate student records are kept and that financial information is recorded.

Bradford Alternative Provision Academy is part of Exceed Academies Trust, which currently consists of fourteen academies; ten primary schools, an all-through primary-to-secondary academy, two alternative provision academies (Primary and Secondary), and a specialist setting for children/young people who suffer from social, emotional and mental health difficulties.  The Trust has an excellent reputation within Bradford and beyond, and an outstanding track record of supporting staff in developing their careers through specialist training lead by the Exceed Teaching School Hub and our Outstanding SCITT.

  • Manage complex data and information while ensuring that school systems are kept up to date
  • Responsible to the Operations Manager/Head of Centre, from whom they will receive formal supervision and who will allocate work when necessary.
  • However, much of the work is self-generating, and the post holder will be expected to work within established procedures and guidelines and to prioritise day-to-day work, referring only exceptional or complex queries to senior members of staff.

We can offer:

  • Children who are enthusiastic to learn
  • Supportive Trust central team, school leadership, governors, staff and parents
