We are looking for an enthusiastic, efficient and well-organised HR & Finance Officer to join our friendly, supportive team at Orton Wistow Primary School. The role will be busy, varied and responsible as you will be undertaking the day-to-day finance and HR administration for the school. Aspects of the finance role will include managing and processing orders; payment of invoices, school trip monies and liaising with suppliers as well as payroll, day-to-day accounts and reconciliation. The HR function will include maintaining accurate personnel files, updating absence records; processing contractual variations and managing the school's single central record.

You will work closely with the Headteacher and you will be supported in your role by the core team including Trust HR Manager and Trust Accountant.

The ideal candidate:

  • Good educational background with GCSE or equivalent in English Language & Mathematics
  • Finance and/or HR qualification
  • Understanding of general accounting procedures and processes
  • Understanding of HR procedures and processes e.g. safer recruitment; absence management
  • Competent IT user - Excel, Word and Outlook and/or Pupil Asset/SIMs
  • Knowledge of finance software packages e.g. PSF or similar
  • High level of accuracy when working with data
  • Ability to prioritise, communicate and contribute effectively
  • Is committed, reliable and has excellent professional standards
