About this Role

Are you ready to teach with purpose and drive real change in children’s lives?  Larkrise Primary School is looking for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or a teacher in their first five years of teaching who shares the school's values of Inspiring through Creativity, Kindness and Adventure.

We need a KS1 or 2 Teacher to join our team and help shape the future of our vibrant, inclusive, and community-focused school in the heart of East Oxford.

This is more than a job - it’s a chance to shape a generation. You’ll play a pivotal and creative role, leading on curiosity, discovery, unlocking educational potential, and the social-emotional growth of our children. Your passion will ensure that every lesson is an adventure, giving our children the tools they need to flourish and giving the Larkrise community a teacher who truly cares about what matters most: unlocking the unique potential within every child.

Our school offers significant rewards, but it also presents challenges that require a skilled candidate to further enrich our highly inclusive practice. We are fortunate to work in a very supportive community, and we offer an environment that really cares about your development and well-being.

At Larkrise, 98% of parents would recommend the school to others. 98% of staff believe their work has purpose and impact. We are diverse, inclusive, and driven by the belief that strong relationships underpin all successful learning.

We are proud to be part of the River Learning Trust (RLT), which provides us with access to a wide network of schools and offers rich professional development opportunities.

Are you a teacher who:

  • Can empower, educate and inspire a classroom of children?

  • Is willing to be supported in delivering excellence for our community?

  • Supports our mission of being a vibrant and caring school which proudly reflects the diversity of our community?

  • Do you want to Inspire children through Creativity, Kindness and Adventure?

If so, we can offer:

  • Warm, enthusiastic children who love learning

  • Passionate, welcoming and dedicated staff

  • A supportive and active parent body and PTA (Friends of Larkrise)

  • Ambitious, forward-thinking leaders and governors

  • A strong commitment to your growth, development, and well-being

Come and join a school where you will be valued, your career will grow, and your work will matter.

Our school is part of the River Learning Trust: Education has the power to change lives, communities and society for the better. At RLT we believe that we can achieve more for our pupils, trainees, staff and communities by working together rather than alone. All of the schools in RLT are united by a common belief in the benefits of working together and by our commitment to our shared principles.

OUR VISION is for our schools and SCITT to improve rapidly, continuously and sustainably: to be better faster together.

OUR ‘WHY’? is that children and young people ‘only get one go’ in school, and therefore, as part of RLT we aim to ensure the best possible ‘go’ for our pupils.

OUR ‘HOW?’ is through the highest support and challenge for our schools and each other, underpinned by our principles.

Our employees benefit from a wide variety of support, including extensive continuing professional learning and development opportunities, wellbeing and staff networks and access to Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (TPS and LGPS) for all staff. For more information on what it is like to work for the Trust and the benefits you can access, please see our “Working in RLT” guide.
