The School
In September 2023 Kenilworth
School and Sixth Form relocated to a brand new, bespoke campus. The Science
Department has its own wing comprising of 14 laboratories, 2 Science studios, 1
flexible learning space, 1 large Science staff base and 3 large prep rooms.
Labs are fully equipped with large interactive TV screens and all the latest
technologies.
We are looking to appoint a Science Technician to be based at Kenilworth School & Sixth Form, within an established and committed team of Science Technicians to support a large department. This is an exciting post for a Science Technician to join the team and training can be given to a suitable candidate with a science background. An awareness of working within manual handling and COSHH procedures would be advantageous, but not essential.
Hours of work: 8.30am to 4.00pm (with a 30-minute
unpaid lunchbreak)
Working pattern: Monday and Tuesday
Typical Duties:
Assisting Science Technicians and
teachers in setting up and clearing away practical experiments.
Ensuring practical equipment
orders are complete and ready for lessons.
Handling chemicals, making up
solutions including correct disposal.
Opportunities to assist with
classroom demonstrations and practical activities.
Opportunities to become involved
in the planning and development of new practical elements alongside any changes
within the Science curriculum.
Working within guidelines and
procedures to ensure the laboratories are clean, safe and tidy.
Undertake First Aid duties as
required.
