About this Role

Arnold Hill Spencer Academy is excited to invite applications for a passionate and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our vibrant team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting student learning by supervising classes in the absence of a teacher, while also contributing valuable administrative support to one or more of our faculty teams.

This is a rewarding and responsible position where you will have the chance to make a real difference to students’ education and experience. You’ll take the lead in the classroom on a short-term basis, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment while maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement.

You will be joining a forward-thinking, dynamic, and supportive team that prides itself on being welcoming and collaborative, while holding high expectations for both staff and students. This role is ideal for anyone considering a future career in education, offering invaluable experience in a school setting.

At Arnold Hill Spencer Academy, we are committed to your development. We guarantee all staff access to continuous professional development (CPD), alongside a comprehensive programme of training and career progression opportunities through our partnership with Spencer Academies Trust.

Arnold Hill Spencer Academy is a truly special place to learn and work. In June 2025, Ofsted rated the academy ‘Good’ in all areas and ‘Outstanding’ for Post-16 provision. Our August GCSE results exceeded national averages for both attainment and progress, reflecting the dedication of our staff and the ambition of our students.

We are proud of our young people, whose behaviour, achievements, and character shine every day. Guided by our community ethos — “Be inspired and achieve together” — we provide daily opportunities for success, growth, and collaboration. Respect, responsibility, and independence are at the heart of our values, helping students to mature into confident, capable individuals. At Arnold Hill Spencer Academy, we believe in the potential of every student and nurture it within a caring, supportive environment where everyone can thrive.

Early application is strongly encouraged as we reserve the right to interview and close the advert ahead of the closing date.

Spencer Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children and young people. Therefore, we expect everyone to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre- employment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced criminal records with Barred List Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and the completion of Level 2 Safeguarding training. It is an offence to apply for the role if an applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children (where the role involves this type of regulated activity).

The Trust and its member academies are committed to promoting equality and diversity in both employment and education provision. We aim to ensure that students, parents, governors, employees, contractors, partners, clients and other stakeholders within the Trust community are treated fairly, and with dignity and respect regardless of Protected Characteristics.

Spencer Academies Trust is a Disability Confident Committed Employer
