About this Role

Class Teacher (with Potential Phase Lead Responsibility) – Heath Primary School

Are you an enthusiastic and committed teacher with a passion for delivering high‑quality learning experiences? Heath Primary School is seeking a dedicated Class Teacher to join our friendly, ambitious, and supportive team.

This post is open to teachers seeking a class teacher role, with the opportunity for a phase lead responsibility for the right candidate. This additional role would suit an experienced practitioner ready to lead a team of teachers, drive high standards, and contribute to school improvement at a strategic level. Applicants who wish to apply as a class teacher only are very welcome.

We are looking for a teacher who is committed to excellent classroom practice and who strives to provide engaging, well‑planned lessons that enable all pupils to make strong progress. You will create a positive and purposeful learning environment, underpinned by high expectations, effective behaviour management, and a strong understanding of child development.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching aligned with the school’s curriculum
  • Use assessment effectively to inform planning and support pupil progress
  • Foster a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, resilience, and enjoyment of learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and leaders to continually improve practice

For candidates taking on the Phase Lead role, responsibilities will also include leading and supporting a team of teachers, ensuring consistency and high standards across the phase, and contributing to the development of teaching, learning, and curriculum design across the school.

You will be a reflective practitioner who values professional development and enjoys contributing to the wider life of the school. Experience of adapting teaching to meet a range of needs is important, alongside a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for every pupil.

Heath Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and other relevant pre‑employment checks.

Join us and become part of a school that values excellent teaching, professional collaboration, and a nurturing learning environment where children are supported to achieve their potential.

Applications are welcome from candidates seeking part‑time or full‑time positions.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and can be arranged using the contact links below.
