About this Role

Join Our Team as a Teaching Assistant (PE & Sport Focus)

Are you passionate about sport, physical activity and helping children thrive? Heath Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and forward-thinking team in a PE-focused role.

This is a varied and rewarding position, combining classroom support with a key role in delivering and promoting PE, sport and active play across the school. The week will be a balance of  supporting teaching and learning in class, as well as supporting PE lessons, organising activities, and contributing to sporting events and clubs.

You will help to engage pupils in physical activity, promote teamwork and healthy lifestyles, and ensure all children can participate and succeed. Alongside this, you will support pupils’ learning, confidence and independence across the curriculum, including those with additional and SEND needs.

Working closely with class teachers, the SENDCo and the wider staff team, you will play an important role in both learning and enrichment, helping to create a positive, inclusive and active school environment. We particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience or a strong interest in PE, sport or coaching, alongside a commitment to supporting all learners.

Heath Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are expected to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and all relevant pre-employment checks.

Join us in championing the potential of every child and helping to create a nurturing, inclusive and active environment where all pupils can succeed.
