About this Role

Aldercar Infant and Nursery School is a friendly and welcoming school with happy and engaged children who love to learn. Our staff team are dedicated and passionate, with a sense of fun and commitment to every child. At Aldercar ‘the children are the stars’.

We also have an Enhanced Resource Facility for deaf and hearing impaired children, and are passionate about inclusion for all.

 From September 2026, our Governors and pupils are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hard-working and highly motivated Class Teacher to join our happy and successful school.  This will be on a fixed term for one year, with the possibility of the position being made permanent depending on pupil numbers.


We are looking for a practitioner who:

  •          Is creative and able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the EYFS and KS1 national curriculum requirements
  •          Understands the importance of play-based learning, and child led exploration.
  •          Can physically get down to the child’s level when interacting, providing eye contact, reassurance and genuine connection.
  •          Shares the schools’ commitment to achieving the highest possible standards for all our children.
  •          Provides an empowering and inspiring learning environment.
  •          Is reflective and consistently provide opportunities for children to learn through carefully planned sequential lesson sequences. 
  •          Is able to support less able children, as well as children who are working at a greater depth of understanding.
  •          Has an awareness of the needs of deaf and hearing-impaired children, and individuals with SEND.
  •          Has an understanding of assessment processes and can use these accurately to plan ‘next steps’ in learning.
  •          Works well in a team, can establish good relationships with children and parents and are willing to fully participate in the Aldercar learning family.


 ECTs are welcome to apply, and will be fully supported in their journey if successfully appointed.
