We
are seeking an ambitious, experienced, and dynamic leader to join our Senior
Leadership Team as Deputy Headteacher. The successful candidate will be one of
two Deputy Headteachers in the school and the precise allocation of roles will
depend on the skill set of the successful candidate. The ideal candidate will be hardworking,
energetic, and share our vision of excellence, commitment to collaboration, and
focus on meeting the needs of every student. They will set high standards for
everyone in the school community and demonstrate integrity and empathy. A
proven ability to raise student achievement is essential. The successful candidate will support our
further development as a school and allow us to build on our current
achievements.
As Deputy Headteacher, the successful applicant will show commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom, maintaining high expectations and achieving outstanding results. They will also have a passion for education and the well-being of all students. We are proud of our school and seek a leader who will uphold our reputation and strengthen our positive relationships with staff, parents, and carers. While applications reflecting experience in any curriculum area are welcome for this post, expertise in maths, science, or computing is desirable.
The postholder is expected to make a significant contribution to school improvement and provide support to the Headteacher where required across all aspects of school leadership. They will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and lead the development of whole school policy and practice in order to advance the school’s core purpose. Specific responsibilities will be determined by the skills and experience of the successful candidate. This post is available as a result of the decision of two long-standing members of SLT to move on from leadership and this means there is greater flexibility about the precise leadership responsibilities.
Our students and our staff are our greatest resource and we were very pleased that Ofsted formally recognised this in our most recent inspection, saying that our ‘teachers are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subjects that they teach’ and that they provide rapid support to address any misconceptions that may arise ‘.
