Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time (32.5 hours per week)

About the Role:
As the Head of Art, you will lead and manage the Art department, ensuring scholar progress throughout Key Stages 3 and 4. You will be responsible for planning and teaching engaging lessons, supporting period 6 sessions, and contributing to a safe and supportive environment founded on high expectations and mutual respect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a planned timetable of 38 periods per two-week cycle.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress and attainment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development.
  • Organize and participate in motivating trips and events.
  • Lead and manage quality assurance processes within the department.
  • Act as a role model of professionalism and positivity.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status and a good honours degree.
  • Evidence of outstanding teaching and personal success in leading a subject area.
  • Knowledge of high-quality educational provision and strategies for raising achievement.
  • Experience in managing a team and working in diverse school environments.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
