We are seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to join our pastoral team as Deputy DSL and LAC Coordinator. You will play a key role in safeguarding, promoting student wellbeing, and championing the progress of looked after and previously looked after children. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference within a supportive, inclusive academy committed to excellence. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns when the DSL is unavailable.
  • Support the DSL in making referrals to Children’s Social Care, Early Help, or other agencies.
  • Work directly with vulnerable students to provide early intervention and pastoral support.
  • Monitor academic progress and attainment of LAC students
  • Lead the creation, review, and quality assurance of Personal Education Plans (PEPs). 

Pay range: SCP 22-27 - £29,639.20 - £33,615.54 - FTE: £33,699.00 - £38,220.00 - 37 Hours per week, 39 weeks per year  

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
  • Level 3 Safeguarding Training (DSL/DDSL level)
  • Ability to manage high volumes of confidential information
  • Understanding of systems such as: Early Help, Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP)
  • Ability to act as a strong advocate for vulnerable and LAC students
  • Manage emotionally demanding work
