Are you an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher of English ready to make your mark? Royton & Crompton E-ACT Academy is seeking a passionate, dedicated ECT to join our thriving English department on a fixed-term maternity cover.

This is an exciting opportunity to start or continue your teaching journey in a supportive, forward-thinking academy where creativity, collaboration and professional growth are championed. You’ll inspire students to develop a love of literature and language while benefiting from high-quality mentorship, tailored CPD, and a warm, welcoming team. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Deliver engaging, well-planned English lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment focused on high expectations and progress.
  • Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Engage fully in ECT support and mentoring, reflecting on practice to continually develop teaching skills
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues to support achievement and wellbeing

Pay range: MPS1 - £32,916.00 - Fixed term Maternity 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards successful completion of ECT induction.
  • Degree in English or a related subject.
  • Ability to deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that support progress for all learners
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan effectively and meet deadlines
  • Passion for fostering a positive learning environment and promoting student engagement.
