St. Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy was founded in 1814 near to the city centre and is now situated on a site provided by the Sisters of Mercy in Darley Abbey, on the north side of the city. Having moved from the central location to the outskirts of the city, we are proud to welcome a diverse community which attracts families across the whole of Derby City. You will be responsible for:

Working with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
Promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
Giving support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement

The successful candidate will be able to build effective working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues and will adapt their approach to meet the needs of all pupils.
