About this Role

Howden School is seeking to appoint a professional, confident, and well-organised person to support our Pastoral Team.  We are ambitious about the future – creating learning environments and excellence in teaching and learning that provide our children and young people with the best chance at a successful future. Coupled with this is the commitment, care and investment in our people, who we believe are our greatest asset. If you are a team player who is looking for a varied and interesting new career opportunity within a wider Pastoral Team, then we want to hear from you!

About the Role

As a Head of year, you will be responsible for the provision of pastoral and administrative support for students in a particular Year Group. Whole school focus to be agreed on appointment. You will work closely with the Key Stage Progress Leader and other colleagues in the Pastoral Team to ensure the pastoral welfare of students in the Academy, including working closely with outside agencies and parents/carers to ensure the welfare of all students.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and/or young people, preferably in a secondary school environment. Candidates will also be educated to GCSE\Level 2 qualifications in Maths, English and Science and should have a sound knowledge of Microsoft applications. Candidates will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the range of difficulties that students present in mainstream schools and to be able to demonstrate evidence and knowledge of strategies which can be implemented to enable these children to fulfil their potential and partake fully in all aspects of the curriculum and school life.

What WE can Offer YOU
