The role will involve leading on the development and implementation of the school's curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and driving continuous improvement in student outcomes.  The Deputy Headteacher will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and enriching school culture that aligns with the school's Catholic ethos, vision, and values.

Curriculum Design and Implementation

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the school timetable, ensuring it effectively supports the delivery of the curriculum and meets the needs of all pupils and staff.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a broad, balanced, and coherent curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils and prepares them for the next stage of their education and life
  • Ensure the curriculum is underpinned by the school's Catholic values and promotes the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of pupils
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum, making adjustments as necessary to drive continuous improvement
  • Oversee the implementation of effective assessment practises to track pupil progress and inform teaching and learning

Teaching, Learning, and Outcomes

  • Promote and sustain high-quality teaching and learning across the school.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of teaching on pupil progress and attainment, providing support and challenge to teachers as needed
  • Identify and implement evidence-based strategies to enhance teaching and learning, particularly in areas of underperformance
  • Ensure the school's commitment to inclusion and high expectations for all pupils is reflected in classroom practice

The Role

We are seeking an inspirational Deputy Headteacher who will work closely with the Headteacher and Trust leadership team to provide strategic and operational leadership. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of our school and its community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Headteacher in the leadership and management of the school, upholding our Catholic ethos and values.
  • Drive improvements in teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring outstanding outcomes for all students.
  • Lead on curriculum design and development
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote staff development and well-being.
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with pupils, parents, staff, governors, and the wider community.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a practising Catholic with a deep understanding of and commitment to the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church. You will be an experienced leader, passionate about making a difference in students' lives and able to inspire and motivate those around you.

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within education.
  • A strong track record of improving student outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to upholding the Catholic ethos of the school.
