The role focuses on supporting students’ personal, social, and employability development by building strong relationships, meeting their individual needs, and ensuring their safety and progress throughout the programme.
Student Support & Pastoral Care
Understand each student’s background, EHCP targets, medical needs, and learning styles.
Act as the key point of contact for allocated students, ensuring all pastoral and learning needs are met.
Record safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referrals.
Identify emotional or pastoral needs and liaise with the SENCO and Safeguarding & Equity Lead.
Maintain regular communication with families/carers and involve them in student progress reviews.
Curriculum & Employability
Lead and support delivery of curriculum and employability sessions.
Create curriculum maps and learner journeys with senior leaders.
Lead student induction and vocational profiling.
Work collaboratively with Maths, English, SENCO, and employability colleagues.
Ensure learning and exam arrangements meet student needs, and support as invigilator/reader/scribe.
Lead educational trips and liaise with external partners in employer engagement.
Monitoring, Assessment & Administration
Follow programme frameworks and maintain accurate records.
Lead attendance monitoring for allocated students.
Set up and manage student files and records on Google Suite and Arbor.
Set, monitor, and review student targets and development plans.
Track and record daily progress with evidence.
Attend weekly meetings to review student progress and interventions.
Produce action plans for students not meeting expected progress or behaviour standards.
Provide evidence for EHCP reviews and attend meetings.
Ensure all communication with parents/carers is recorded.
Supervision & Wider Responsibilities
Provide daily oversight of Assistant Job Coaches.
Contribute to a positive organisational culture and team collaboration.
Model integrity, professionalism, and adherence to all policies, including safeguarding and health & safety.
Commit to continuous professional development.
Be flexible and undertake duties as needed, maintaining high standards in all work
