About this Role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our caring, friendly and hard-working team. As well as having a strong understanding of building strong relationships with adults and children, we are also looking for someone who can use their initiative. The post is for a 1-1 support providing dedicated support to a child with physical disability.

This is a full-time role working daily from 8.40am to 3.20pm. This role is available as a full-time position or a job share.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Provide dedicated support to a child with cerebral palsy, facilitating their participation in class room activities.
  • Assist with personal care, toileting, dressing and lunchtimes.
  • Support the child with movement around the school, including using mobility aids.
  • Promoting the child's independence, ensuring they act independently where appropriate, rather than doing tasks for them.
  • Modifying resources and classroom materials to ensure accessibility, under the guidance of the SENCo and Class Teacher.
  • Working closely with parents, the SENCo, teachers, and outside agencies (physiotherapists, occupational therapists).
  • Follow our schools safeguarding procedures
