As part of the Hereward Primary School, you will play a vital role in ensuring our school remains a welcoming, secure, and efficient environment for pupils, parents, and staff alike. If you’re calm under pressure, great with people, and ready to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
As an Administration Assistant, your day will be varied and impactful, covering three main areas:
1. Front-of-House & Reception
Acting as the welcoming "face" of the school, managing all visitor enquiries via phone, email, and in person.
Ensuring school security by managing visitor badges and entry systems.
Handling incoming and outgoing post and accepting school deliveries.
2. Student Welfare & Attendance
Providing first aid to pupils (training provided) and liaising with parents regarding sickness or injury.
Maintaining the daily registration process, checking online registers, and following up on absences or late arrivals.
Supporting the general well-being of our children in a "Trauma Perceptive" environment.
3. Administration, HR & Finance Support
Managing data entry, filing, photocopying, and the maintenance of school stock.
Assisting with the administration of school visits and wrap-around care bookings/payments.
Supporting the Central HR and Finance teams with onboarding paperwork and processing purchase orders.
We are looking for a professional who meets the following criteria:
Education: A minimum of GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C or equivalent.
Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Google Docs/Sheets and Microsoft Office, with a willingness to learn school-specific systems like Arbor or Childcare Connect.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with total discretion.
Organisation: Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a heavy workload under pressure.
Welfare-Focused: A valid First Aid qualification is desirable, but a willingness to undergo training is essential.
In return we can offer:
Friendly, experienced team.

We are committed to Trauma Perceptive Practice, an approach that supports emotional well-being and creates a sense of belonging for all. We value our staff’s growth and provide opportunities for continuous professional development (CPD) and performance reviews.
Safeguarding Note: The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All staff are expected to share this commitment, and the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
