About this Role

Saracens High School is a free school that opened in September 2018 for pupils aged 11-18, in the Colindale area of North London, serving the wonderfully diverse Grahame Park community.

We are looking for a new colleague to join our pastoral team so that each year group has a dedicated Assistant Year Lead - Pastoral Support Worker. In this role you will work closely with the Year Lead, and other members of the pastoral team to help children overcome their barriers to learning both inside and outside the school, and to develop into young people with a passion to make a positive contribution to society.

Saracens High School has a family ethos and is committed to supporting staff in this rewarding job, while recognising the stress it puts upon us. With generous teacher loadings, the opportunity for colleagues to take family days, and access to a staff counsellor, we do all we can to look after our staff.

With strong ties to the wider Saracens organisation, we base all we do on the values Discipline, Hard Work, Honesty, and Humility. We have a family ethos that focuses on character development and making memories, as much as outstanding academic attainment. Our aim is to develop aspirational life-long learners, who will thrive in their chosen career path, embracing our values, and demonstrating a strong moral purpose and a desire to make a positive contribution to society and their local community. (Hear Paul Dix speak about Saracens High School here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Utm3ocGeII)

Our school is a place where a person enters the building and knows this is a school where the learner is empowered to “be the best that they can possibly be”; where the individual abilities of each pupil are recognised, and where coaching for life skills as well as academic excellence is at the core of all we do.

We offer exceptional training and development opportunities and do all we can to support you in this role, and to achieve your aspirations, while you help the children to achieve theirs.
