About the Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work across both South Milford and Kellington primary schools to deliver PPA and leadership cover from Reception to Year 6.  You may also be required to cover classes during short-term teacher absences, helping to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons aligned with pupils’ needs

• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, adapting approaches to support their development

• Supporting behaviour management and promoting independence and resilience

• Contributing to educational visits and wider school activities

• Working collaboratively with parents, staff, and external professionals to support pupil achievement and wellbeing

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a strong understanding of child development and inclusive teaching practises

• Is confident in delivering learning activities and adapting to meet individual pupil needs

• Communicates effectively and builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues

• Demonstrates flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth

• Has the emotional resilience and patience to support pupils with diverse and sometimes challenging behaviours

• Holds or be willing to undertake HLTA status or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with relevant qualifications in literacy and numeracy

• Ideally has experience of delivering PE, computing or RE but other subjects will be considered.
